David Recordon is the Chief Technology Officer at Rebellion Defense. David is an experienced engineering leader with deep expertise across both the technology industry and in government. Prior to Rebellion, David was the Director of Technology at the White House during the Biden Administration, where he drove massive modernization of classified systems in partnership with the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community.

David also worked as the Vice President of Infrastructure and Security at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), a philanthropic technology organization. Before joining CZI, David served in government his first time at the White House under the Obama Administration where he led several technology modernization reforms and cybersecurity efforts. Earlier in his career, David held senior engineering roles at Facebook leading globally distributed software and hardware engineering teams. Through his work in the development and evangelism of OpenID and OAuth, two industry-leading platforms for decentralized authentication and authorization, David became the youngest recipient of the Google-O’Reilly Open Source Award.

David is based in Washington, DC with his fiancée Julie and his giant dog, Moose.
